Experience at Restoran Tong Juan Seafood

Four of us traveled all the way from Kuantan to Kemaman to look for food. We drive around Kemaman and found that there are not much restaurant/ coffee shop around. Finally, we decided to have our lunch at Restoran Tong Juan Seafood because we saw quite a number of people in the restaurant (an indication that the food is not bad).

We did not encounter any parking problem because there is a spacious car park areas just across the street. When we stepped inside the restaurant we felt relieved because we saw a lot of newspaper cuttings hanging on the wall introducing the food in the restaurant. After choosing a nice location to be seated, we ordered our food. Of course, we ordered stuffed crabs as it is their signature dish. We also ordered steam fish, a plate of vegetables and omelette's.

Overall, all of us agreed that the food were alright except that the steam fish is a bit tasteless. However, we were shocked when the bills came because it cost almost RM100.

RM30 for 4 pieces of stuffed crabs.
RM36 for steam fish (Only cost about RM20 when I eat in KL)
RM6.80 for 6 plate of rice (About RM1.20/plate Because of the recent price hike of rice??)

Kuantan Trip

On 11/05/2008, I woke up at 9am with a smile because I will be going for a 2D/1N vacation in Kuantan. After finished my breakfast and read the newspapers, I started to pack my bag. I bring along some cloths, towel, toiletries, and a bottle of water. Before I left my house, I make sure that I bring my wallet, handphone, and the camera.

After lunch, Brian and me pick up with his sister and brother-in-law. Then, we started our journey to Kuantan for a holiday. We will be staying at Swiss Garden Resort & Spa in Kuantan. Brian drove from Kuala Lumpur to Kuantan via the Karak Highway which connects directly to the new East Coast Expressway. It took about 4 hours drive because we lost our way finding the hotel. It was almost 7pm when we reached there.

We found a nice car park near the hotel entrance. Once I stepped my foot on the lobby, my first impression was "WOW, nice hotel". The light setting, the furniture, the ambiance, the atmospher is GREAT. There is a band of musician playing traditional music when I was waiting for Brian's brother-in-law to settle the check-in procedure.

Then, we proceed to the hotel room for some rest before our dinner. I am very satisfied and happy with the room condition and facilities in the room. It's nice and clean. After taking a hot and long shower, we headed out to find food to fill our stomach. We found a restaurant/ coffee shop with lots of people about 15minutes drive from the hotel. The taste of the food is okay and I found that the price of the food is more or less the same compared with KL.

After dinner, we decided to drive around the area to experience the night life in Kuantan. However, most of the shops are closed because the time is already 9.30pm. Feeling boring, we decided to return to the hotel and call it a day.

The Millionaire Mind Intensive™ by T.Harv Eker

Venue: Singapore Expo, Hall 2 Singapore

A Weekend That Will Change Your Financial Life Forever!
WINNING THE MONEY GAME

Most of us were never taught how to win the money game and if we were, most likely we were taught by people who weren't very good at it. The first critical element in winning the money game is knowing exactly how to do what rich people do to get and keep wealth.

At the Millionaire Mind Intensive you will learn a step-by-step process for winning the money game. Once you know how to play to win, you will never have to work again…unless of course, you choose to!

Here's just a part of what you'll learn:

  • The wealth creation & maintenance strategies of the rich
  • How to quadruple your speed to financial freedom
  • The 5 key financial habits of the wealthy
  • The underlying cause of almost all financial problems
  • 12 ways to earn passive income so you can make money while you sleep

THE WORLD'S SIMPLEST SYSTEM FOR MONEY MANAGEMENT
Plus! One of the key elements of this seminar is teaching you a fail-safe, sure-fire money management method. This method not only allows you to save a fortune, it will get you to start investing wisely while allowing you to have some money that is only for play!

Over 500,000 lives have been changed by this system and the Millionaire Mind Intensive is going to show you exactly how to put it into action.

Even if you have very little money, it's imperative that you learn to manage your money to make it grow! This system shows you how; and the amounts you manage don't matter, so long as you learn the system.

INTENSE BREAKTHROUGH LEARNING
Each day of the seminar, you'll take part in groundbreaking exercises that will show you exactly how your outer world reflects your inner world.

If you want to change how you deal with your finances on the outside, you're going to need to change how you think about money. You are going to have to learn the “inner game” of wealth building. Go within, make the changes, and your outer world will manifest what you choose!

At the Millionaire Mind Intensive, we are going to teach you the secret psychology of wealth. One of the first things you will learn is—

YOU HAVE A PERSONAL MONEY AND SUCCESS BLUEPRINT

We all have a blueprint that decides how we handle money. It's deeply ingrained in our subconscious and it determines your financial destiny. It comes from our past programming—things we learned in childhood in three 3 primary ways: Verbal Conditioning - what we heard; Modeling - what we saw; and, Specific Incidents – what we experienced.

But here's the key:

YOUR FINANCIAL BLUEPRINT CAN BE CHANGED!

One of the main objectives of the Millionaire Mind Intensive is to show you:

  • How your childhood conditioning is affecting your finances today
  • How to identify and change your personal money and success blueprint, forever
  • How to recognize your “money personality” and learn to build on your strengths and overcome your weaknesses
  • How to use “spiritual laws” to create “real world” success
  • How rich people think and how to adopt their ingrained blueprint for abundance
  • How to recondition your mind for “automatic” success

“Your income can only grow to the extent that you do!”
T. Harv Eker

CHANGE YOUR SETTINGS

So what is your financial blueprint set for? Are you set for success, mediocrity or failure; ease or struggle; consistent earnings or an “up and down” income?

Some of us are set for saving, some for spending, some do both in cycles that keep them financially treading water their whole lives. There are those who instinctively choose winning investments and those who consistently pick losers. But...how do you know which way your blueprint is set?

One way is to look at your results!

Financial settings are like the temperature in a room. If the temperature is 72 degrees, chances are the thermostat is set for 72 degrees. If you are not earning enough, keeping enough, or enjoying your money enough, then your blueprint is set for “not enough”. And unless you change it, your current financial blueprint will stay with you for the rest of your life.

That is exactly what we do at the Millionaire Mind Intensive!

ARE YOU ATTRACTING OR REPELLING SUCCESS?

Another thing you will learn at the Millionaire Mind Intensive is that the universe is dynamic . Everything is in a constant state of motion and change. At every moment, depending on how you think, speak, and act in the world, you are either attracting success or repelling it.

At the Millionaire Mind Intensive, through intense learning exercises, you will change your money, resetting it for “automatic” success.

The course objective is to make success—in all areas of your life—your natural way of being. Having done that, you will find that you will attract all that you have been struggling to achieve…and more!

By the end of this course you will have a completely different attitude towards money and success; you will have a millionaire's mind-set. Best of all, the same principles you learn to enhance your financial life will create inner peace and happiness. The Millionaire Mind Intensive will teach you to be “rich” in every sense of the word.

Six Lessons from "Rich Dad Poor Dad"

Lesson 1: Don't Work For Money.

  • Avoid Rat Race - Get up, go to work, pay bills, get up, go to work, and pay bills. It is one of life’s biggest traps and lives are run forever by fear & greed. Offer them more money and they continue the cycle by also increasing their spending.
  • We should use our imaginations to identify an opportunity to make money (seeing what others miss).

Lesson 2: Why Learn Financial Literacy
  • It’s not how much money you make, its how much you keep & how many generations you keep it.
  • We must know difference between an asset and a liability, and buy assets.
  • In financial reporting, reading numbers is looking for the plot/story of where the cash is flowing.
Income Statement (Profit and Loss Statement): measures income and expenses.

Balance Sheet: to balance assets against liabilities.

Asset: something that put money in pocket

Liability: something that takes money out of my pocket.

Financial aptitude: what you do with the money once you make it, how to keep people from taking it from you, how long you keep it, and how hard that money works for you.

Wealth is a person’s ability to survive so many numbers of days forward…or if stopped working today, how long could survive?

Lesson 3: Mind Your Own Business
  • Start minding your own business. Keep your daytime job, but start buying real assets, not liabilities or personal effects that have no real value once you get them home.
  • Start building a solid asset column before leave home, get married, buy a house, have kids and get stuck in a risky financial position, clinging to a job and buying everything on credit.
  • The better understanding of accounting and cash management, the better at analyzing investments and eventually starting and building own company.
  • Real assets fall into several different categories.
  1. Business that do not require my presence.
  2. Stocks
  3. Bonds
  4. Mutual funds.
  5. Income-generating real estate.
  6. Notes (IOUs)
  7. Royalties from intellectual property such as music, scripts, patents.
  8. And anything else that has value produces income or appreciates and has a ready market.

Lesson 4: Taxes and Power of Corporation
Financial IQ is made up of knowledge from four broad areas of expertise:

Accounting/Financial literacy: the ability to read and understand financial statements. To identify the strength and weaknesses of any business.

Investing: science of money making money. Involves strategies and formulas.

Understanding Market: science of supply and demand.

Law: An individual with the knowledge of tax advantages and protection provided by a corporation can get rich so much faster than someone who is an employee or a small-business sole proprietor.

Tax advantages:
Employees earn and get taxed and they try to live on what is left. A corporation earns, spends everything it can and is taxes on anything that is left.

Protection from lawsuits:

The rich control everything but own nothing. The poor and middle class try to own everything and lose it to the government or to fellow citizens.
If own any legitimate assets, consider finding out more about the benefits and protection offered by a corporation as soon as possible.

Lesson 5: The Rich Invent Money
Two kinds of investors:
  1. People who buy packaged investment: mutual fund, REIT, stock or bond
  2. People who create investment: know how to put pieces of opportunities together, or know people who do so.

Three skills to be second type of investor (to become financially intelligent)
  1. See with your mind what others miss with their eyes.
  2. Know how to raise capital
  3. Know how to organize smart people.

Lesson 6: Work to learn, Don't Work For Money
  • Education is more valuable than money in the long run.
  • Studying trade, people, business styles, and cultures of other country.
  • Leadership need to be learned next.
  • Seek work for what they will learn, more than what they will earn. Look at what skills to acquire before choosing a specific profession and before getting trapped in rat race.
  • Take a second job that will teach second skills. (Ex. Network marketing)
  • The more specialized, the more trapped and dependent on the specialty.
  • Know a little about a lot.
  • Work with people smarter than we were and bring smart people together to work as a team.

I CAN !!!

If you think you are beaten, you are;
If you think you dare not, you don’t
If you like to win, but you think you can’t
It is almost certain you won’t

If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost,
For out of the world we find,
Success begins with a fellow’s will
It is all in the state of mind

If you think you are outclassed, you are
You’ve got to think high to rise
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize

Life’s battle don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man
But sooner or later the man who wins
Is the man WHO THINKS HE CAN!!!

Tax Guides Needed?

The most discussed subject in the month of April is "income tax". This is because most of the people work as an employee and the deadline for submission and payment falls on 30th April. Everyone will be busy searching the EA form and receipts to do the tax computations.

Income Tax is an amount of money which is taken from your earnings to help towards some of the cost of services we receive in this country. Everyone who earns or receives income exceeding a certain amount will be required to pay income tax. The tax payable for a tax year (a year of assessment) will be based on the income earned for that year. For example, for the tax year 2007 (Year of Assessment 2007 current year basis) you are required to declare your earnings for the year 2000.

The income of an employee from an employment includes wages, salary, remuneration, leave pay, fee, commission, bonus, gratuity, perquisite or allowance (whether such items are paid in money or otherwise) in respect of having or exercising the employment.

Personal relief is a deduction (against your taxable income) given in respect of yourself, wife/husband, children, medical expenses for parents, medical expenses of serious diseases, expenses on supporting equipment for disabled person, any life insurance premiums/contributions to approved provident or pension fund, premium for insurance on education or for medical benefit and annuity premium purchased through EPF annuity scheme.

Self Assessment is a method whereby a taxpayer is responsible for calculating his own tax and making payment within the specified period. Self Assessment is a total process change from the previous formal assessment system.
Under the formal assessment system, taxpayers are required to declare their incomes in the Return Form, submit the Return Form to the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) and the IRB will then raise the assessment. The Notice of Assessment is sent to the taxpayer and based on the tax raised in the Notice of Assessment, payment must be made accordingly.
Under the Self Assessment System, taxpayers are still required to complete and submit Return Form by the required dates. Taxpayers will have to calculate their own tax and make payment of the full amount. In the case of an employee, the Schedular Tax Deduction Scheme will continue to
apply i.e. tax will be deducted from the monthly salary and remitted to the IRB by the employer.

The Road Not Taken

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

The literal meaning of this poem by Robert Frost is pretty obvious. A traveler comes to a fork in the road and needs to decide which way to go to continue his journey. After much mental debate, the traveler picks the road "less traveled by." The poem describes the tuogh choices people stand for when traveling the road of life. It is a truism that any choice we make is going to make “all the difference” in how our future turns out.

April Fool's Day

Everybody knows what is the meaning or celebration on 1st of April. Even a few years old kid will know that it is April Fool's Day or sometimes called All Fool's Day. This is the day when people play practical jokes on each other and have a good laugh. One have to be vigilant and be prepared for anything!

I remembered that when I was still schooling, I will wait for the right time to take action. The harmless jokes that I used to play on others is
1) There is something on your face.
2) Hey, you dropped the money.
3) Hide something and let the other person to find it for a while.
4) You forgot to zip your shorts/ skirts.
5) Eh, there is a hole in your shorts/ pants.

As I grow older, my friends and family don't celebrate it anymore. Yesterday is April Fool's Day but I don't get any jokes or hoaxes. Is it because we are more mature? Is it because of stress? Or is it because it is not good to play jokes on people.

Getting Braces

My mouth is small and the teeth are crowded. Due to not enough space, two of my front teeth grow in 45%. I received comments from friends and colleagues to get braces. They said my face is nice but once I open my mouth / smile, the secret is out. Once I go to see a doctor for fever but the doctor comment on my teeth.

I am thinking of getting braces to fix my teeth for a long long time. When I was still in secondary school, my parents said my condition is not very bad and advise me not to do it. Besides, it's very expensive. Also, I heard about all the pain and troubles of those wearing braces. Thus, I put off the intention do get it done.

I already join the working world for 3 years now. However, I still yet to fix my teeth problem. One of the reason is because the price has rise to about RM3K-5K. Due to the increasing cost of living, I have trouble to fork out the expenses. Secondly, still need to visit the dentist about every month after that for 1-2years depending on teeth condition. Thirdly, I still afraid of the pain that I have to endure.

Aculife Magnetic Wave Therapist

People these days are becoming proactive about their health. They are not only want to prevent illness, but also want to find ways to live longer and healthier lives. Medicine were thought to be the best ways to treat diseases, but now people can build up their body’s own natural abilities to fight diseases. The development of advanced scientific instruments and discovery of acupoints represent a new revolutionary milestone in the field of medicine. People can access to treat medical conditions or performs everyday health maintenance in their own homes. The functions of Magnetic Wave Therapist are:
  1. Improve Blood Circulation
  2. Enhance the Muscles contraction
  3. To Kill Pains
  4. Vitalize the Functions of Nerves
  5. Adjust the Movement of Intestines
  6. Enhance the Functions of Having Urines
  7. Reduce Inflammation
  8. To Kill Heat

Aculife sends a magnetic pulse from the control areas on the palm or ear to the corresponding area in the body. This magnetic pulse helps unclog micro energy pathways improving blood circulation to help strengthen the immune system.

To Detect the Aculife sends out a short wave electric pulse through the acupoints on the hand and ear. Their state-of-Chi is measured in the form of a tingling or stinging sensation.
To Relieve it transmits the electric pulse on the same wavelength but at a different power, which stimulates the brain into producing more red and white blood cells and endorphins – the body's natural opiate.
The Protect bit comes from using the Aculife to strengthen and enhance the body's immune system, enabling it to be more efficient in fighting off disease and maintaining a healthy balance. This in turn enables it to provide a strong barrier to the constant bombardment of modern day living.

Improve Health with LifePak?

I was staring at the 2 boxes of LifePak that I am holding. Due to some reasons, I was introduced to this new product called LifePak. I opened one of the boxes and found that were a few small sachet and each has four capsules. I was informed to take a sachet every morning and evening meals. Even though I am still not sure about this product, but have to discipline myself to finish the 2 boxes of Lifepax because I cannot waste the money spend on it. I think to myself "I can handle this. Just take two sachet everyday for 2 months. Then you'l see the improvement on your health". Hopefully I have the persistence to finish them. HAHA!Some information about LifePax:

5) Coenzyme Q10 (produced by the body).

Consider Lower Cost Alternative for Petrol

One challenge that is facing our society is the increasing price of petrol, the impact on transportation and cost of living. As the price of oil has risen past US$100 (RM320) per barrel, the government is facing an increased burden in providing subsidized petrol and gas. In fact, oil price has hit US$110 a barrel because of increase in demand. The risk of supply problems and shortages could raise the price of oil even higher. Although Malaysia is an oil-producing nation, we can no longer rely on this supply just as we can no longer rely on subsidies.

As a driver, I can already predict the stress and pressure that I have to deal with if goverment increase the price of petrol. A friend of mine explained that one of the solution on how to save money spend on petrol is NGV.
NGV stand for Natural Gas Vehicle. Natural Gas is an economic source than the other alternatives such as Bio-fuel & Hybrid car. It is the best alternative to petrol because:
1. Save up to 70% on petrol cost. (Petrol price is RM1.92/Litre but for NGV is RM0.68/Litre)

Acne Problem?

I don't have this problem when studying in secondary school and university. It all started after I join the workforce. Yes, I do have acne but only 1 or 2 and will be alright after a few days.

I am now in my late twenties and I have lots of acne breakout now and then. More and more blackhead appears near nose area. My face is also very sensitive and redness is around my cheek area. I also have oily skin and I can't life without a moisturiser because my skin will become hydrated. Most of my family members, relative, friends and colleagues have commented on my face condition.

One day, I've read from the internet that there is one regime which works for most people. I decided to give it a try. I've followed the facial routine of using the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser and Neutrogena Oil Free Moisturiser for Combination Skin since Jan 20, 2008. Due to frequent acne breakout, I have also added PanOxy 2.5 in my regime 1 month ago.

Time flies and it's been two months since I started to try this facial products. Not sure if it's due to stress, eating habits, constipation problem, environment or other reasons, all those acne continue to pop out. But after applying the PanOxy, it will make the acne smaller and smaller. However, the PanOxy will make my sensitive face with redness.

I decided to continue the regime for another month. If really not suitable for me, then I really need to seek professional help.

Who Moved My Cheese???

Most people heard about the best-selling book titled "Who Moved My Cheese?"
It is written by Dr. Spencer Johnson and is one of the most successful business book ever. It is a very short short and simple story that can takes only about 30 - 60 minutes to read.

It is a story of four characters who live in a maze and look for cheese to nourish them and make them happy. Two were mice named Sniff and Scurry. Another two were littlepeople named Hem and Haw. Everyday, the four characters will find their own special cheese in the maze. One day, all four characters find their cheese in Cheese Station C. Every morning after that, the mice and littlepeople headed over to Cheese Station C. They become very comfortable that they had found the cheese. One day, they arrived at Cheese Station C and discovered there were no cheese.

The mice were not surprised as they had noticed the supply had been getting smaller everyday. They decided to change because the situation in Cheese Station C changed. They quickly off in the maze to find New Cheese.

The two littlepeople were unprepared for what they found as they did not pay attention to the small changes that happened everyday. While the two mice had quickly moved on, the two littlepeople ranted and raved at the injustice of it all. Everyday, Hem and Haw returned to Cheese Station C hoping that someone would put back their cheese. One day, Haw realized that they keep doing the same thing over and over again and wonder why things don't get better. Finally, he realized they're never going to put yesterday's Cheese back and it's time to find new cheese. Thus, off he go to find new cheese. Before long, he found he greatest supply of Cheese in New Cheese Station N. He found his old friend (two mice) with fat little bellies which showed that they had been here for some time. As Haw recalled what he had learned, he thought of his friends Hem.
I found that the keyword of the book is "CHANGE".
Cheese is what you want in life - good job, loving relationship, wealth, or health.
Maze is where you look for what you want - organization, family or community.
Sometimes, things change and they are never the same again. That's life! Life moves on. And so should we.
